Summer Exercise Routine...Getting enough exercise during the summer seems like it would not be too much of a problem for me. After all...I'm a teacher, on break and all I have is time on my hands...right? Isn't that the accepted myth of teachers and what they do during their summer break? The reality is...my summer has been busy (consisting of more than concert-going, yoga, meditation, and visits to my favorite French bakery (http://www.ameliesfrenchbakery.com) for coffee and a chocolate croissant (http://www.ameliesfrenchbakery.com/menu.php?mid=7117&mcid=10464&item_id=55176)) and I have had to figure out how to get the right combination of exercise in to maintain the level of health I want.Running and walking...on my treadmill (https://shop.truefitness.com/es900-treadmill) (it gets super hot in the summer where I live) coupled with a bit of leisurely walking in between and after...has resulted in me burning about 570 active calories a day and about 2,200 calories total a day! My indoor runs average about 22 minutes at 4.5 mph, getting me 2.15 MI according to the Workout app on my #AppleWatch. My indoor walks average about 47 minutes at 3.6 mph, getting me 2.81 MI according to the Workout app on my #AppleWatch. This seems to be the right combination of exercise for me, right now.
