I am a husband, writer, and teacher exploring what it means to cultivate mental silence.

Rainy day haiku…

I was talking to a good friend recently. He asked if I ever thought about writing fiction. This came as I explained to him the complexity of writing about my day job in a public space. Then I explained that I've tried to fictionalize my thoughts and feelings about my day job through poetry... specifically haikus... specifically haikus inspired by my favorite poet Jack Kerouac.

So here's a haiku I've been working on...

Sunrise

Overshadowed

By waves of minutiae

The Flop House...by way of Reconcilable Differences
