I just added Apple Intelligence to my iPad Pro. I was on the waitlist when I went to bed last night. I’m writing this entry to see what happens when I use the “Concise” filter, in the Writing Tools via Apple Intelligence. What follows is a short piece of what has gone on over the last 12 hours since putting the betas on both my iPad Pro and Mac.
Yesterday I downloaded the beta for iPad Pro, 18.1 and the beta for my new M3 MacBook Air, 15.1 while listening to the Upgrade podcast. I was granted access to Apple Intelligence on my Mac immediately and had to join the waitlist on my iPad Pro. This morning I turned on my Mac and tried to use the new Siri. When the old Siri came on, I got concerned, went to the Settings app to find that I’d been bumped off of Apple Intelligence and had to join the waitlist.
Here is what the “Concise” filter produced…

Seeing what happened with the “Professional” filter prompted me to, you guessed it, try the “Friendly” filter…

Guess what? I just got my hands on the Apple Intelligence feature for my iPad Pro! I was on the waitlist last night, but now I can’t wait to try it out. I’m curious to see how it works with the “Concise” filter in the Writing Tools vi. Let me know what you think!
Impressions
I’m most impressed with the “Professional” version of my original entry. The thoughts seem more complete and in line with what I was trying to convey; at least in the first paragraph. Apple Intelligence seems to have disregarded my second paragraph in its entirety. I wonder if that was purposeful or a bug? Only one way to find out.

So, yesterday I downloaded the beta for the iPad Pro 18.1 and the new M3 MacBook Air 15.1 while listening to the Upgrade podcast. Guess what? I got instant access to Apple Intelligence on my Mac! Pretty cool, huh?
More Impressions
None of the filters mention being bumped off of Apple Intelligence on my Mac. I wonder why? At any rate, this was a fun experiment and I look forward to playing around with the Writing Tools more.
