“Face” to Face Value
This week I went album shopping. It’s been a few weeks. I had my list of artists and groups with me via the Obsidian iOS app. When I got to the record store I started my search in the Used LP’s section. You never know what you’re going to find and each store does this a bit differently. I found a few things that were tempting from artists and groups that are on my list but not the exact albums I was looking for. So, I decided to look in the new LP’s section of both Rock and Metal. After enjoying the memories that some of the album covers generated I found myself, literally “face to face” with Phil Collins’ Face Value. I had just listened to a great podcast called: Heat Rocks where this album was discussed. I had also had a very serendipitous conversation about the album with a friend recently. Both artist and album are on my list so I got it!
Check out the version I got, side 1…
And side 2…
To say playing this album is going to bring me joy each time I sit with it is an understatement.
If you are interested in geeking out to the manner in which I am keeping track of my collection; check out this post. I’ll be back again soon with more additions to my growing list of albums. The Rolling Stones just announced that they are resuming the tour they had to cancel last year. I’m going to go see them with my wife and I have at least one more album I’d like to get from them…before that concert. Until then!
