Come on Sonos, really?
I own an old school Sonos Play 3. I love it! Use it daily. I own an M3 MacBook Air. I love it! Use it daily. One of the cool things you will be able to do in the Fall, on macOS 15, that you can do right now on the beta, is mirror your iPhone. I tried something the other day that has me questioning the Sonos app that is used to control, among other things, volume control. I opened the Sonos app after connecting my iPhone to my Mac and pressed play. The music played immediately. When I'm on my iPhone and try this same function there is usually at least a 3 second delay between pressing play and hearing music. Sonos is getting a lot of flack about their app and its ability to do the simplest of things; so much so that that the CEO, Patrick Spence recently sent an email to Sonos users apologizing for the flaws in the app along with providing a road map of things the company plans to address in the coming months, including volume control responsiveness. While in mirroring mode on my Mac I attempted to adjust the volume of the music I was playing, something that has been, to put it mildly, problematic on the app. It worked flawlessly, no latency. So in order to get the best user experience while using the Sonos app I have to mirror my iPhone to my Mac?
