More Tinkering with ChatGPT Tasks

In my last post, I talked about some of the things I was doing with ChatGPT Tasks. Here is an update on some new things I am trying and learning along the way.

I am a Dallas Cowboys fan (don’t judge me). The team recently parted ways with its head coach, Mike McCarthy. This got me thinking, could ChatGPT Tasks be prompted to keep me posted on the hunt for a new head coach? Here are the directions I gave ChatGPT Tasks…

Directions I gave to ChatGPT Tasks

The next morning I got up and this is what ChatGPT Tasks had waiting for me…

First day’s results

I was very impressed that ChatGPT Tasks was able to pull all of this together for me. What impressed me most was the time this task was saving me as it would have potentially taken me at least an hour to find and pull this information together from the sources listed. I also love the last sentence that states that, “I,” ChatGPT Tasks, “…will continue to monitor the situation…” Nice personal touch.

Days passed with similar updates. Then, on January 25th, I got this…

New head coach announced

I am very impressed with what ChatGPT Tasks was able to do for me via this task. It saved me precious time, time I used to do other things…like revise another task.

In my last post I wrote about how I had ChatGPT Tasks provide me a Stoic quote each morning. I also had it provide me 3 prompts that I could use to write in my Gratitude journal and share 3 AI news items. One day, while reading my Stoic quote, the thought occurred to me that I could have ChatGPT Tasks combine all 3 things into one task. I call it Get Up! Here’s what it looks like…

I read this while having my first coffee of the morning

Notice that this task starts with the greeting, “Good morning!” followed by the day, date, and time. I added this recently to the instructions of the task so I knew each morning that I was getting new information.

I am looking forward to more tinkering with ChatGPT Tasks. I really think it has potential to surpass, if it hasn’t already, Apple’s Shortcuts app with regards to creating tasks with natural language.
