Or so I thought…
It has been 2 months since I last posted to my blog. A lot has transpired since then; the passing of my mother, major renovations to our house and apartment just to name a few. When I got on my blog site this morning to see what I'd last written I noticed that I was writing about my problems with plantar fasciitis. Even more interesting is the fact that the time between that post and my last post about those problems was about 2 months.
In the January 15th post, I thought I'd found the right combination and solution to my problems. If only "past me" knew then what "present me" knows now. About 3 weeks ago my right foot started experiencing symptoms of plantar fasciitis. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being excruciating pain; my right foot was up to 11! My initial thoughts were, "Why?" And "How?" Why now? More importantly, how, after 2 months of using the Dr. Sholl's inserts in combination with my Hoka shoes, could this be? In an attempt to figure out what was causing this, I swapped out the current pair of inserts in each of my shoes and put fresh inserts in. No change. I started soaking my feet in an ice bath at the end of the day. While this felt awesome it did not make the pain go away. Through conversation with my wife I resigned myself to the fact that the Hoka shoes and inserts were not working and something else needed to be done; quickly!
Enter the Good Feet Store. My wife went to this store about a year ago for similar reasons and was fitted with their 3-Step System. Since then her foot issues have been eliminated. We decided it was time for me to give this system a try.
I've only been using the 3-Step System for about 3 days. So far, the only "discomfort" I'm feeling is coming from what the inserts are doing; "improving the poor biomechanics" of both my feet. I also bought 2 new pairs of shoes; Brooks Glycerin 17's (for everyday wear) and New Balance Fresh Form 1080's (for working out on the treadmill).
Time will tell if the 3-Step System will put an end to the pain I've been experiencing.
