Inserts, Hoka, Vionics: The Exploration into Alleviating Heel Pain Concludes
It's been almost 2 months since I wrote about my problems with plantar fasciitis and my quest to find shoes that would help me "get back on my feet" with regards to just getting around during the day and working out again. In that post I also wrote about finding the Dr. Sholl's orthotic inserts and how they were helping. A lot has happened since then so I thought I'd provide an update.
My current daily wear shoes continue to be the Hoka Rincon 3's and the Hoka Bondi 7's; each with their own pair of Dr. Sholl's orthotic inserts. My feet are totally used to the inserts now which has made wearing these shoes daily very pleasant.
I've decided to deploy the Vionic Men's Ansel Lace-Up Leisure Sneakers as my outside, going for a walk shoe. I'm very happy with this decision as these shoes, with their built in orthotic support, feel really good on the sidewalks in my neighborhood which is where I do the majority of my walking.
That leaves me with workouts on the treadmill. For reasons that are not that interesting, I decided last week to buy a second pair of the Hoka Bondi 7's and dedicate them solely to workouts on my treadmill. They are an amazing shoe and with the added support of their own Dr. Sholl's orthotic inserts, I am now covered on all fronts; daily wear, outside walks, and workouts on my treadmill. Take that plantar fasciitis!!!!
