Week One with the Theme System Journal...

Week One with the Theme System Journal...It’s been one week since using my new theme system journal. Here are my initial thoughts...It’s been really nice sitting and actually writing things out in the journal pages. Here is a sample of a journal page...I think that actually writing about the ideas that relate to my yearly theme is a more mindful way of reflecting than just putting a number on a spreadsheet (which...as you know) is the way I’ve been doing it. Don’t get me wrong though I like starting with the quantitative piece, shown here...As I “rank” each of the outcomes I’m striving for...I think back on the day. After I’ve ranked myself I’m ready to take it to the next (qualitative) level...the journal entries.I’m playing around with changing the “Bad” prompt. I say this because it was the hardest one to think about each day. I really liked using the “Good,” “Proud,” and “Forward” prompts. It felt natural reflecting on these things. Maybe I didn’t like the “Bad” prompt because I thought I was forcing myself to think about something bad when there really wasn’t anything bad to write about. In that case...I could keep it until I have something to write about or...like I was thinking...try to figure out another prompt that I could write about daily like the others. Think I’ll ponder that over the weekend as I will only be using the journal during the work week.
