Yearly Theme Update
I listened to the recent episode of Cortex a few days ago. Myke and Grey spent a bit of their time thinking about how their Yearly Themes are going. I really enjoyed the conversation and how they are thinking about how things are going. Like most Cortex episodes, this one got me thinking about what I could do for a new blog post. Why not provide an update on my Yearly Theme and how I have decided; at least for now, how to think about my year.
In a blog post I wrote earlier in the month I shared my new theme, The Year of (MORE) Domesticality. I've been living this theme for...weeks now. In an effort to use some of the data I'm collecting I've decided to use the Daily Themes section as my lens into how things are going.
Here is a picture of some my Daily Themes pages...
Here's what I'm seeing...
I'm doing enough yoga.
My mediation practice is strong.
I'm writing almost everyday but could stand to find a bit more time doing one of the things I like the most. Case in point...a few minutes ago I was just sitting around looking at an app I'd just purchased. I can do that any time so I got up and went to work on this blog post!
I'm reading everyday for over 10 minutes. I am really enjoying this as it takes me out of my work headspace and into the book I'm reading!
I'm getting 8,000 + steps in most days even if I don't get on the treadmill in the morning. That's good!
I continue to be mindful of my affirmations daily.
I'm not listening to enough music. At least on the days I post to my Theme System Journal.
I'm being a good husband!
Overall...my Year of (MORE) Domesticality is going quite well according to the metrics I'm keeping on the Daily Themes pages of the Theme System Journal.
